Female Northern Hawk Owl giving a begging call

Here is a female Northern Hawk Owl that I digiscoped by hand. She is giving a begging call, which is a the same call given by young Northern Hawk Owls when they are "hungry." Adult female Northern Hawk Owls give this call during the spring :-)

*you may have to turn the volume adjuster-bar up slightly, in order to hear her call
