Wildlife & TV: Goshawk put to the test, extraordinary slow motion
This link above has some amazing footage of how agile and maneuverable the Northern Goshawk is. Northern Goshawks are the largest of the accipiters, which are the "true hawks," or hawks of the deep woods. They have proportionately short wings and a long tail, relative to their body size; which allows them to meander and swerve through the densest forests as they pursue their prey!

Northern Saw-whet Owl
I recently won my first online photo contest! I'm really excited, and wanted to show you some of the other fun and exciting photos in this competition. The Northern Saw-whet Owl (below) was my entry. I took this photo while working in Cottage Grove, Oregon; while in my bird job in Spring/Summer 2010. This momma S'wet Owl was nesting in a Douglas Fir.
